Myrtle
Description: Myrtle is seeking for unconditional love. She was found by a farmer, malnourished, dehydrated and anxious . She is now two weeks at PAWS and already greets the shelter teamn with a wagging tail whenever they come into her enclosure. She seeks out companionship and enjoys gentle petting. She is very attached to her caregiver and looks to them for security. On walks, she calmly walks on a loose leash and is very focused on her human. She is still a bit reserved with strangers but is happy to go on walks with them.
It's clear that Myrtle is eager to learn. She always tries to please, and we are confident that training her will continue to be a joy. Myrtle can finally just be a dog. Since she learns a lot from other dogs and looks to them for guidance, we would prefer to place her in a home with another sovereign dog. We are looking for dog-experienced people who understand sensitive dogs and can offer her the necessary security and guidance. Myrtle needs patient people who can teach her the basics of being a dog and show her all the wonderful aspects of life. Her future home should be in a rural area. Placement with older, dog-savvy children is possible, provided that Myrtle always has a place to retreat if she needs a break. To continue making such great progress with Myrtle, we are finally looking for a suitable permanent or foster home for this beautiful girl. Myrtle truly deserves it.
