Alex

Little Alex and his brother Eddie were found by tourists in Naousa, all alone with no mother in sight. Luckily, the tourists reached out to us, and the two brothers came to us. Alex has always been the braver brother, ready for any adventure. He really helped his brother Eddie to gain more confidence. Since there are countless calls from tourists who have found a sick or injured kitten and are asking for help, we are always so happy when a cat gets adopted. Not only does one cat finally have its happy ending, but a second one can be rescued. We are more than happy that Alex will have his happy ending—not just any happy ending, but a happy ending as an adventure cat on a sailing boat, exploring the wide world! Alex left our shelter after only 22 days!

Alex's new family on why they chose him as their new family member: "As animal lovers, we’ve been hesitant about getting a pet for many years because our life requires lots of traveling, and now we live on a sailing boat as well. So, we were very hesitant for a long time, as we didn’t want any animal to be miserable on the sea and during travels. We asked around a lot for opinions, watched lots of videos on the internet, and didn’t want to rush into a decision until we were 100% sure that we could provide all that a pet needs. One day when we were in Paros, we thought we would visit the PAWS shelter and see how we felt about adopting a little kitten, as some sailor friends have amazing experiences with their cats onboard. We had no intention of adopting a cat the very same day, but… five minutes in the kitten cage and my husband looked at Alex, saying, ‘So it’s him then.’ Alex was calm, an adorable purring fur ball, came to us right away, not shy at all, and my husband had a gut feeling about him… he was so right about baby Alex. He acts like he was actually born on the boat, which was a huge surprise for us and a relief too, being assured that it is possible to make a pet happy on a sailing boat. The constant cuddles day and night with loud purring, the little kisses he gives us (and we give him), when we play with him, he makes us laugh. He loves to be on the boat or go for walks on land, and his very curious nature is beyond adorable. We are so lucky to have him in our lives, and we are trying our very best to make every day joyful for him. He didn’t have a good start in life, but all these sweet rescued animals deserve a second chance and a much happier life because they show so much love in exchange; they can really appreciate the love and care we give them. We wish everyone could have a wonderful experience like us with a sweet animal because not only do we try to give Alex a better life, but he has changed our lives in the best possible way, and we are so grateful to have him. Let’s not forget that PAWS takes care of these rescued cats and dogs in the most caring and loving way, so that once they are adopted, they are litter trained, very well fed, and just so well taken care of on many levels. Without the amazing work of the people at PAWS, we wouldn’t have little Alex in our lives today. Thank you so much! We admire the work you do for all these fur babies!”

Thank you so much for offering Alex this incredible new life! Thank you for all your kind words—this is the reason we keep on fighting for our strays. We are more than excited to see all the pictures of little Alex’s adventures!
