Many people want to adopt a pet, but they simply don't have the space or may not be able to have a pet for other reasons such as age or a health condition.

Here we offer you the opportunity to support a stray pet through a pet sponsorship.

All cats and dogs need special care at different stages of their life, such as when they are kittens or puppies, when they are old or if they develop a disease or have been found and brought following an accident or injury. Special foods, vaccinations and vet interventions for conditions requiring operations in these cases are essential, as these pets are vulnerable and need your support.

We will keep you updated each month with news of your sponsored pet and pictures of how he or she is doing. You can stop your donations at any time, but we would be very happy if you could help us until the pet is adopted

Examples of what your sponsorship will buy are given below.

Buys a multi vaccine for a dog or a cat to protect against diseases such as parvo and distemper

Pays for a rapid blood test

Pays for 6 tins of Hills w/d wet cat food

Buys 15 kg good quality kitten or puppy food

or 8 Daxacox tablets that help an old dog with Arhthriis

Or neuter a male dog

Buys 10kg Hills i/d liver dry food for dogs with damaged liver.

Or neuters a female dog

€ 5 with buy a paracite treatment for a dog or cat

€15 will buy a flea and tick treatment for a dog or cat for one month

Or buys a rabies vaccination for a cat or dog

€250 will pay the road transport costs to get a cat or dog to it’s new home in Germany

€290 buys 90 mls of Milteforan to treat dogs suffering with Leishmania (Kala Azar).

(Please note that in some years, the Municipality of Paros participates in contracts with local vets to provide certain treatments and procedures for the stray pets of Paros. In the case where a pet you have sponsored had been treated under such a program, your donation will be used for treatments or foods not covered in the municipal program)
